From Ashley Weatherford
Sealed With A Kiss is a string of stories devoted to the transformations which arrive with a swipe of lipstick.
Color Sensational Nude Lipstick is a particular power in the naked lip. Compared to fire-engine reddish or electrical crimson, it is understated, hardly there. But naked is a color, and it’s different for everybody. It is in Die Another Day, the pinky-beige Halle Berry wore, the brownish-taupe Sonia Sotomayor wore testifying to eventually become the third woman to serve as a Supreme Court justice, as well as the tan Jennifer Lopez seems to have worn since time immemorial. But though they are all called”naked,” none of all those colours are the same. They are ultimately empowering: Nude won’t shout on your own head; it is only there for you.
Naked lips can accommodate to all skin types, colors, and undertones and therefore are superior to bare lips, which can be drier and less uniform. I remember the very first time I saw a Maybelline advertisement featuring a recently enlarged lip color range. There was Jessica White, surrounded by a sea of caramel tubes, and toffee, buff. For the very first time in so long as I could recall, I can identify with the merchandise, and also with the model on the page she promoted. She was wearing Maybelline’s Color Sensational in”Nearly There.”
Nude lipstick is your makeup equivalent of a tiny stud earring: barely transformative, but stylistically significant. There’s also, naturally, beauty from the lip. When Beyoncé introduced to”Single Ladies,” she did so in naked, extra-glossy lips. What did Kate Middleton wear for her wedding day? Naked, obviously. And we can not leave Kim Kardashian, who celebrates lipwear as much out. Nude is for the woman who doesn’t hide behind vibrant colors. In a way, you could say the nude you wear says more about you than any ensemble, outfit, or shoe.
Of course, no one will deny you measured assurance under a veil of nude. It looks great and it feels better. There is strength in moving naked, although there may be a feeling of liberation in moving naked. Here, a number of my favorite nude colors of all time. Check. Coverage following a single swipe? Check. Naked, but not corpse-beige nude? Of course.
